The IWE Presents at Summit on Latino Worker Safety

In April of 2010, the IWE was proud to present at the National Action Summit for Latino Worker Health and Safety in Houston, Texas. Co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, the summit’s goal was to help reduce injuries and illness among Latino workers by enhancing their knowledge of their rights and their ability to exercise those rights. The presentation, “Training the Latino Workforce in Safety and Health,” focused on the importance of bilingual training and was given by Vice President of Workforce Development Norman Ruano along with Senior Project Manager David Sanchez.
